Departures & Rates

Take an 11-night trip, visiting some of China’s best attractions and enjoying a cruise along the Yangtze River. Start off with tours of the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, Tian An Men Square, and the Forbidden City in Beijing. Then fly to Xi’an, where you see 6,000 terracotta soldiers frozen in time. Afterward, fly to Chongqing and board your cruise along the Yangtze River, passing through the Three Gorges along the way. Finally, fly to Shanghai and explore the vibrant city that mixes modern and ancient. Starting from $4290, including air, with weekly guaranteed departures.

Day 1 - USA/Beijing
Depart the USA on your Cathay Pacific trans-Pacific flight for Beijing. Cross the International Date Line.

Day 2 - Beijing
Arrive Beijing and transfer to your hotel. (Qianmen/Jianguo Garden)

Day 3 - Beijing
A full-day sightseeing takes you around the wonders of this 3,000-year-old city. Visit Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. (B/L)

Day 4 - Beijing
Travel outside the city to the magnificent Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Peking Duck dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 5 - Beijing/Xian
Fly to Xian and transfer to your hotel. (Tianlang Times/Sheraton) (B/L)

Day 6 - Xian
See the 6,000 life-size terra-cotta soldiers and horses at the tomb of Emperor Qinshi Huangdi. Also see Hua Qing Hot Springs and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight enjoy a feast of delicate dumplings. (B/L/D)

Day 7 - Xian/Chongqing
Fly to Chongqing and transfer to your hotel. Visit the Pipa Hill. Taste the famous hot pot tonight. (Eling Park 88/Glenview ITC Plaza) (B/L/D)

Day 8 - Chongqing/Yangtze River Cruise
Transfer to the pier and board Victoria Cruises ship for an evening departure. Embark on an unforgettable cruise along China's vital waterway, the Yangtze River. (main deck/promenade deck) (B/L) 

Day 9 - Yangtze River Cruise
Continue along the Yangtze River, stopping for a shore excursion at the port city of Wanzhou or Fengdu, "The City of Ghosts." (B/L/D)

Day 10 - Yangtze River Cruise
Sail through Qutang Gorge and pass through Wu Gorge's deep zigzagging valley and forested mountains. Take a breathtaking excursion by motorized sampan up the Daning River for a close look at the towering Three Small Gorges. (B/L/D)

Day 11 - Yangtze River Cruise/Yichang/Shanghai
This morning visit the Three Gorges Dam site, one of the world's largest hydraulic projects. Dock and disembark at Yichang. Fly to Shanghai, and transfer to hotel. (Holiday Inn Downtown/Sunrise on the Bund) (B/L)

Day 12 - Shanghai
Visit the Bund, the Jade Buddha Temple and Yu Garden. Shop along Nanjing Road. (B/L)

Day 13 - Shanghai/USA
Board return flight to the US. Or, take the Hong Kong Extension. (B)
