Departures & Rates

Take a 7 day/6 night escorted tour to Peru, first getting to know Lima, Peru's capital, for 2 nights. Fly to Cuzco and transfer for a night to the Sacred Valley, a region in Peru's Andean highlands with fertile farmland and Spanish colonial villages. Travel by a scenic train to Aguas Calientes. The next day take a full-day tour of one of the seven wonders of the world - Machu Picchu. An Incan citadel set high in the Andes, Machu Picchu was built in the 15th century and later abandoned. Finally, return to Cuzco by train for 2 nights. You may take an optional tour and visit many sites in this UNESCO World Heritage city. From $1,599 per person, land and air from Miami. Day 1, Saturday - Miami/Lima
Depart Miami via Avianca Airlines and arrive in Peru the same day. Upon arriving in Lima, you are picked up and taken to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance will be offered. (El Tambo II or similar/Atton San Isidro or similar)

Day 2, Sunday - Lima
After breakfast at hotel, take a half-day city tour (Colonial and Modern Lima).Visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, the "City of Kings," beginning in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. Pass by a Huaca or sacred pre-Inca site. Then stop at Parque del Amor (Lovers Park) in Miraflores for its magnificent view over the Pacific Ocean. The tour also includes the Historic Centre based on the Main Square, where the Presidential Palace, the Archbishops Palace, the Municipality of Lima and the Cathedral are located, as well as a visit to one of the largest colonial-era convents. Day 3, Monday - Lima/Cuzco/Sacred Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cuzco city. On arrival, transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Compared to the city of Cuzco, the Sacred Valley allows better acclimatization due to its lower altitude. Remainder of the day at leisure to rest and get used to the altitude. (Hacienda del Valle or similar/Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba or similar) (B)

Day 4, Tuesday - Sacred Valley/Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, head to Chinchero to visit the PARWA Center, where you can appreciate beautiful textiles and even buy some to take home. Also, visit the Chinchero church, built by the Spanish in 1607 and still standing today. Continue with a visit to the ruins of Chinchero, where you will find an important Inca center in which terraces and aqueducts were built. Then stop at the Racchi Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, head toward the town of Ollantaytambo and see the imposing Inca fortress that bears the same name. This place is of great historical importance because it is where Manco Inca defeated the Spanish forces in 1538. The, descend to the town of llantaytambo, which stands out for still maintaining the Inca urban planning as part of its original urban layout, with some buildings and narrow stone alleys. You can tour the town and visit the local market. At designated time, board the train to Machu Picchu. (Train timetable subject to confirmation.) (El Mapi by Inkaterra or similar/Inkaterra Machu Picchu or similar) (B/L)

Day 5, Wednesday - Machu Picchu/Cuzco
After breakfast, visit one of the most important spiritual energy centers of the world: Machu Picchu. You are driven to the archaeological site, where a professional tour guide will inform you about all the history that surrounds this mysterious and enchanting place. After the guided tour, you have some free time to explore the site on your own, relax, or meditate. At the agreed upon hour, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train later that afternoon for the return trip to Cuzco. (Train timetable subject to confirmation.) Once you arrive at Poroy Station in Cuzco, you are driven to your hotel. (Xima Cusco or similar/Palacio del Inka or similar) (B/L)

Day 6, Thursday -  Cuzco
Day at leisure in Cuzco. Enjoy the charm of this beautiful colonial city that was built upon the remains of amazing Inca buildings. Not to be missed are the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), San Blas artisan’s neighborhood, the Cathedral and the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. You can enhance your experience by adding an optional tour to these sites this afternoon (additional cost). Optional afternoon tour: Visit the incredible colonial city where the Spanish constructed buildings on top of the foundations of Incan palaces. Begin at Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun, to witness the exquisite stonework achieved by the Incas. Next stop is the Main Square for a tour of the Cathedral to see its fabulous woodcarvings and impressive altars and the lovely Church of La Compañia de Jesus (Society of Christ). Next, head upward to Sacsayhuaman, a fortress located in a strategic spot high above the city with a view that is absolutely stunning. Also, visit the archaeological complex of Kenko and enjoy a panoramic view of Puca Pucara. (B)

Day 7, Friday - Cuzco/Lima/Miami
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you are transferred to the airport for your flight back to Miami. Arrive the same day. (B)
