Departures & Rates

Embark on a 10-night trip to the land down under. Start in Sydney, where you see the Sydney Opera House and the famous Bondi Beach. From there, travel to Cairns and take a full-day tour of the Great Barrier Reef. The next day, visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Fly to Ayers Rock, visiting the Olgas and taking in the beautiful scenery. Finally, travel to Melbourne and visit the Shrine of Remembrance and Queen Victoria Market before returning to the US or taking an optional New Zealand extension. Starting from $5,145, including air, with weekly guaranteed departures.

Day 1 - USA/Sydney
Depart on Fiji Airways trans-Pacific flight for Sydney, Australia.

Day 2 - En Route
Cross the International Date Line.

Day 3 - Sydney
Arrive in Sydney, and transfer to your hotel. (Hyatt Regency/Radisson Blu Plaza)

Day 4 - Sydney
After breakfast, begin a day of touring the city's must-see sights, iincluding Sydney's birthplace (The Rocks), Sydney Opera House, and Mrs Macquaries Chair. Wander Manley and Bondi beaches, stop at Arabanoo Lookout and pass through picturesque Milsons Point. Take in stunning views aboard Captain Cook's lunch cruise in spectacular Sydney Harbor. (B/L)

Day 5 - Sydney
Full day of leisure. (B)

Day 6 - Sydney/Cairns
Fly to Cairns and transfer to your hotel. (Pacific/Pullman Cairns) (B)

Day 7 - Great Barrier Reef
Experience an exciting full day on the Great Barrier Reef. Cruise by catamaran to the stunning Marine World coral reef location. Enjoy morning tea, an informative presentation by a marine biologist, a buffet lunch, semi-submersible tours, glass-bottom boat tours, and underwater observatory coral viewing. All snorkeling equipment, wet suit and Lycra suit are included, and a qualified snorkeling advisor is on hand. Scuba diving available at additional cost. (B/L)

Day 8 - Cairns
Board the Kuranda Scenic Train to enjoy breathtaking views over the rainforest canopy. Visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, where you can enjoy dance performances, a museum and lunch. (B/L)

Day 9 - Cairns/Ayers Rock
Take a morning flight to Ayers Rock. Afternoon tour begins with a drive around the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Continue to the Kuniya Walk and Mutitjulu Waterhole, and see Aboriginal rock paintings. Visit the cultural center, where the collections provide insight into the culture of the Uluru's traditional custodians. As the sun sets over Ayers Rock, witness (and photograph) the striking color changes that take place in this majestic natural park. (Desert Gardens/Sails in the Desert) (B)

Day 10 - Ayers Rock
Enjoy a morning cup of tea or coffee as the first rays of sunlight slowly change the color of Ayers Rock. Then travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjua (the Olgas). View the sunrise over Ayers Rock and the Olgas. Continue on a walk through the Walpa Gorge, a lush desert haven for plants and animals. Balance of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 11 - Ayers Rock/Melbourne
Fly to Melbourne and transfer to your hotel. (Pullman Melbourne/Sofitel) (B)

Day 12 - Melbourne
A half-day city tour includes the bustling Queen Victoria market, the Shrine of Remembrance, the peaceful King's Domain Gardens and Royal Botanic Gardens, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Royal Exhibition Buildings. Drive down Collins Street, the ultimate shopping strip and business center, and see the world-renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground. (B)

Day 13 - Melbourne/USA
Depart via Fiji Airways flight to the US. Or, take New Zealand Extension or Fiji Extension.  (B)

5 Days/4 Nights

Day 13 - Melbourne/Queenstown

Fly to Queenstown on the South Island of New Zealand. Transfer to your hotel. (Copthorne Lakefront/Millennium) (B)

Day 14 - Milford Sound
Drive through the Fiordland National Park where lush rainforests meet snow-capped mountains. On arrival at Milford, enjoy a cruise on the tranquil waters of the Fiord while viewing the famous Mitre Peak, the waterfalls and perhaps some marine life. Return to Queenstown in the evening.  (B/L)

Day 15 - Queenstown/Mt. Cook/Christchurch
Depart this morning for a scenic overland tour to Christchurch. Drive through the Kawarau Gorge and Lindis Peak, and enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Cook, the country's highest peak. (Rydges Latimer/George) (B)

Day 16 - Christchurch
Today tour the beautiful old French whaling village of Akaroa. En route, stop at Hill Top for a panoramic harbor view. Visit a cheese factory at Barry's Bay. Afternoon, take a two-hour cruise on Akaroa Harbour, sighting dolphins, penguins and seals. Return to Christchurch, stopping at Birdling Flat on Kaitorete Spit, a stony beach, to view the cliffs of Banks Peninsula. (B)

Day 17 - Christchurch/USA
Depart via Fiji Airways for the USA and arrive home the same day. (Fiji Airways flies Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from Christchurch. If flying on a different day, add flight Christchurch to Auckland.) (B)
