Machu Picchu & Galapagos Cruise

14 days/13 nights - from $6,745 per person including airfare from Miami

Departures & Rates

Take a 13-night trip and travel to the fabled lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Start your trip in Lima, visiting the 16th-century San Francisco Convent and the Parque del Amor. From there, fly to Cuzco and see the Church of La Compania and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress. Afterward, travel down the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting in Chinchero and continuing to the monumental architectural complex of Ollantaytambo. Next, take the train to Machu Picchu to enjoy a guided tour of this ancient citadel. Later, travel by train back to Cuzco. The following day, board the bus for Puno, where you take an excursion on Lake Titicaca and visit Taquile Island. Transit through Lima on your way to Quito. Connect with a flight to Baltra Airport in the Galapagos. Once in the Galapagos, board your three-night cruise and visit the various islands that inspired Darwin’s theory of evolution. Finally, transit through Quito on your way back to the US. Starting from $6745, including air, with departures every Saturday.

Day 1, Saturday – Miami/Lima
Depart Miami via Avianca Airlines and arrive in Lima. Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon tour of Lima includes the Main Square, 16th-century San Francisco Convent,  pre-Inca Huaca Huallamarca, and Parque del Amor. (Casa Andina Select Miraflores/DoubleTree El Pardo Miraflores)

Day 2, Sunday - Lima/Cuzco
Fly to Cuzco and transfer to hotel. Afternoon tour includes the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace. Later, stop at the Main Square and see the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compania. Visit Sacsayhuaman Fortress and view archaeological sites. (Novotel/Aranwa Cuzco) (B)

Day 3, Monday - Cuzco/Urubamba
Discover the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting in Chinchero at Inca's Balcony, a textile art center with an impressive view. Families demonstrate the ancestral way in which they process the wool and obtain vivid colors. Afterward, visit Ollantaytambo, a monumental architectural comples of the ancient Inca Empire. Day 4, Tuesday - Urubamba/Machu Picchu/Cuzco
Travel by train to Machu Picchu, the fabled "Lost City of the Incas." Arrive at Aguas Calientes and board the bus to the citadel for a guided tour. Afternoon, return to Cuzco by train and transfer to your hotel. (Novotel/Aranwa Cuzco) (B/L)

Day 5, Wednesday - Cuzco/Puno
Travel by bus to Puno. Visit Andahuaylillas, its 17th-century baroque church, and the Racchi ruins. After lunch, stop at Pucara and at La Raya, highest point on the road between Cuzco and Puno. Arrive in Puno and transfer to your hotel. (Sonesta Posadas Puno/GHL Lago Titicaca) (B/L)

Day 6, Thursday - Puno
Excursion to Lake Titicaca begins with the floating islands of the Uros. Visit Taquile Island, where the community welcomes visitors. The work of these skilled artisans reflects techniques developed over the centuries. (B/L)

Day 7, Friday - Puno/Lima
In the morning, visit Sillustani, an archaeological site that includes the famous Chullpas, tall funerary towers above Lake Umayo. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel. (Casa Andina Select Miraflores/DoubleTree El Pardo Miraflores) (B)

Day 8, Saturday - Lima/Quito
Fly via Avianca Airlines to Quito, Ecuador, and transfer to your hotel. (Dann Carlton/Sheraton) (B)

Day 9, Sunday - Quito
In the morning tour the largest historical center in the Americas. Visit important churches, guardians of a stunning multi-ethnic artistic and cultural heritage. Tour the colonial quarter, Congress building, and Old Town. (B)

Day 10, Monday - Quito/Galapagos
Early morning transfer to airport for your flight to Baltra Airport, Galapagos. Upon arrival, transfer to pier to board the MV Galapagos Legend. Afternoon, sail to the island of Santa Cruz and make a dry landing. Transfer to the highlands, home to giant tortoises. Visit Pit Craters, a great place to spot the vermilion flycatcher. (Standard plus cabin/Junior suite) (B/D)

Day 11, Tuesday - Galapagos Cruise
Sail to Egas Port on the island of Santiago, home to a variety of birds and an array of maritime wildlife, including endemic fur seals. Snorkeling offers rarities such as octopus and squid. Afternoon, make a dry landing at Bartolome. Hike to the summit for views of the surrounding islands. Encounter marine iguanas and lava lizards. (B/L/D)

Day 12, Wednesday - Galapagos Cruise
Arrive at Santa Cruz and make a dry landing. Walk by a lagoon where you may see feeding flamingos. The trail leads up to Dragon Hill, a nesting ground for endemic land iguanas and offering views of neighboring islands. Sail to North Seymour and make a dry landing this afternoon. A two-hour walk takes you amidst large nesting colonies of blue-footed boobies, magnificent and great frigate birds, and swallow-tailed gulls. Also encounter sea lions, and, perhaps, a Galapagos snake. (B/L/D)

Day 13, Thursday - Galapagos/Quito
Disembark and transfer to the airport for flight to Quito. Arrive and transfer to hotel. (Dann Carlton/Sheraton) (B)

Day 14, Friday - Quito/Miami
Transfer to the airport for flight to Miami via Avianca Airlines. (B)
