Jul 1, Wed – Hanoi (B/L)
Today, take a full-day tour to explore Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, visit the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum before moving onto his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. Then explore the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism. In the afternoon, visit the Fine Art Museum and the Central Market. A one-hour cyclo tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter allows you to catch a glimpse of ancient Hanoi and learn about traditional Vietnamese architecture.
Jul 2, Thu – Hanoi/Halong Bay (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you are transferred overland to Halong, where you embark on a boat cruise around magnificent Halong Bay. The Bay is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage site noted for the karst rock formations that rise steeply from the water to form thousands of oddly shaped islets. Jul 3, Fri – Halong Bay/Hanoi/Danang (B/L/D)
Return to Hanoi and transfer to the airport for your flight to Danang. On arrival, you are met for transfer to the hotel in Hoi An. Stop en-route to visit Cham Museum. On arrival in Hoi An, set out on a walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Jul 4, Sat – Hoi An/Hue (B/L/D)
Drive to Hue and enjoy the mountain views over the Hai Van Pass. Arrive in Hue, where you visit the royal citadel and take a boat trip along the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda. (Eldora)
Jul 5, Sun – Hue/Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
In the morning, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On arrival, you are met and transferred to the center of the city. Afternoon sightseeing begins with a visit to the Reunification Palace and includes the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office and the history museum. Afterward, check in your hotel. Jul 6, Mon – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
In the morning, visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels, where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon. Visit a local market in Chinatown and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.
Jul 7, Tue – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)
This morning, depart for the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival in My Tho, enjoy a boat cruise along the river. Experience a ride to visit a local house, where you will enjoy tea and taste home-grown fruits. Board a sampan and drift along the narrow, tree-lined canals for further exploration of the Mekong Delta. After lunch, before returning to My Tho, visit a family-run business that makes coconut candy. On the return trip to Ho Chi Minh City, visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda if time permits. Return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon. In the evening, enjoy dinner with a musical performance.
Jul 8, Wed – Ho Chi Minh City/USA (B)
Transfer to the airport and board China Airlines flight for return to the US, where you arrive home the same day.
