Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 - Miami/Santiago
Depart via LAN Airlines flight to Santiago in the evening.

Day 2 - Santiago
Arrive in Santiago and transfer to your hotel. (Hotel Torremayor/Sheraton Hotel)

Day 3 - Santiago
Morning city tour includes Club Hipico, a beautiful horse-racing track; the main square, Plaza de Armas; sights on the main avenue, "Alameda"; Cerro San Cristobal, for a panoramic city view; and Santa Lucia Hill. (B)

Day 4 - Wine Country and Valparaiso
Depart for the central coast, through the valleys of Curacavi and Casablanca, Chile's wine-producing area. Stop at a vineyard and taste some of the world-famous Chilean wines. Visit the beach Renaca and the garden city of Vina del Mar. After lunch, continue to Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage site. (B/L)

Day 5 - Santiago
A full day free to explore the city on your own. Or, take some optional tours. (B)

Day 6 - Santiago/Puerto Montt/ Puerto Varas
After breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Puerto Montt. On arrival, visit the beachside village of Pelluco, the Tenglo Canal, and the picturesque village of Angelmo. Continue along the lakeside to Puerto Varas, stopping at Phillipi Hill for a view of Osorno Volcano. (Hotel Bellavista/Cabanas del Lago) (B)

Day 7 - Alerce Andino National Park
After breakfast, travel to Alerce Andino National Park via Austral Highway. View spectacular scenery of Chile's Lake District. Walk a bit around lakes and lagoons, hidden between towering mountains and dense forests. (B)

Day 8 - Vicente Perez Rosales National Park
Travel by bus, stopping in Vicente Perez Rosales National Park for breathtaking views of Osorno Volcano and Llanquihue Lake. (B/L)

Day 9 - Puerto Varas/Puerto Montt/ Santiago/Miami
Transfer to airport at Puerto Montt and fly to Santiago. Connect with your LAN Airlines flight to Miami. Or take extension to the Patagonia Cruise (Chile to Argentina), Easter Island, or Patagonia Chile.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 9 - Puerto Montt/ Punta Arenas
Fly to Punta Arenas and transfer to pier to board MV Australis. The ship embarks on an expedition to one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world - Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. Sail through the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel. (Cabin B/Cabin AA) (D)

Day 10 - Ainsworth Bay/Tucker Islet
At dawn, navigate through Almirantazgo Sound until finally arriving near Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay. You may walk to discover a beaver dam in the midst of a marvelous Magellanic forest. On a beach observe a colony of elephant seals. Later visit Tucker Islet in Zodiac boats to view colonies of Magellanic penguins (not in April) and cormorants. (B/L/D)

Day 11 - Pia Glacier/Glacier Alley
Travel through the main part of Beagle Channel to Pia Bay. Disembark near Pia Glacier. A short hike to a lookout point affords a spectacular view of the entire glacier tongue. Sail again along the northwest arm of Beagle Channel through majestic "Glacier Alley." (B/L/D)

Day 12 - Cape Horn/Wulaia Bay
Today, disembark in Cape Horn National Park (weather permitting). Cape Horn, on Hornos Island, is a sheer, 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory, also known as the "End of the Earth." In the afternoon, go ashore in historic Wulaia Bay. Walk through a Magellanic forest with a wide variety of native vegetation. (B/L/D)

Day 13 - Ushuaia
Arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world. Disembark and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour includes some of the important sites of the town and museum. (Altos de Ushuaia Hotel/Los Cauquenes Hotel) (B)

Day 14 - Ushuaia/Buenos Aires
Arrive in Buenos Aires and transfer to hotel. (American Park Hotel/Sofitel Buenos Aires) (B)

Day 15 - Buenos Aires
Morning city tour includes the Obelisco; the famous squares Plaza de Mayo, San Martin, Alvear and Plaza del Congreso; avenues Corrientes, De Mayo, and 9 de Julio; and historical neighborhoods. Afternoon free. (B)

Day 16 - Buenos Aires
After breakfast, a day at leisure. This evening, dinner and tango show in a traditional "tangueria." (B/D)

Day 17 - Buenos Aires/Miami
