Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 - Miami/Managua
Depart Miami via Taca Airlines for Managua. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. (Holiday Inn/Real InterContinental)

Day 2 - Managua/Selva Negra
Morning city tour includes visits to Alcahulinca Indian tracks, Ruben Dario Theater, Peace Park and other sites that are part of the country's recent history. Journey on to Selva Negra in Matagalpa area. (Hotel Selva Negra) (B/L)

Day 3 - Selva Negra
Morning coffee tour at Selva Negra. Visit San Rafael del Norte to learn about the town's importance during Sandino's time. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 4 - Selva Negra/Leon
After breakfast, view pre-Columbian indigenous art at Chorotega museum. Travel southward to the colonial city of Leon. Tour the city on arrival. (Hotel El Convento) (B/L)

Day 5 - Leon/Granada
After breakfast, depart for the Ruins of Old Leon, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue on to the colonial city of Granada on Lake Nicaragua's south shore. Rest of the day at leisure. (La Gran Francia) (B/L)

Day 6 - Lake Nicaragua/Masaya Volcano National Park
Morning boat ride on Lake Nicaragua. Continue to Masaya Volcano National Park and to the Masaya market, where you may find unique art by local artists. (B/L)

Day 7 - Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve
Morning tour takes you to Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve. Ascend the mountain by 4-wheel drive while admiring flora and fauna in this cloud forest. At the summit, take the trail (a moderate hike) to the volcano and enjoy breathtaking views. (B)

Day 8 - Granada/Managua/Miami
