Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 - Miami/San Jose
Depart Miami via Lacsa Airlines to San Jose, Costa Rica. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. (Doubletree Cariari by Hilton/ Real InterContinental Hotel )
Day 2 - San Jose/Tortuguero
Transfer from your hotel to the dock. A two- hour boat ride to Tortuguero National Park takes you through natural and manmade canals. En route, admire the area's unique flora and fauna. Afternoon, you may explore the tiny Caribbean village of Tortuguero. (Pachira Lodge/Manatus Hotel) (B/L/D)
Day 3 - Tortuguero
Today, explore the smaller canals and get closer to nature. From July through September, optional turtle-watching tour in the evening, as the massive sea turtles arrive en masse to lay their eggs on the beach. (B/L/D)
Day 4 - Tortuguero/Arenal Volcano
