Day 1, Friday, USA/Delhi
Depart on Lufthansa Airlines from the East Cost to Delhi.

Day 2, Saturday, Delhi
Arrive in Delhi in the late evening. Upon arrival, transfer to the Taj Palace Hotel.

Day 3, Sunday, Delhi/Udaipur
A morning flight to Udaipur, the "Lake City" of Rajasthan, with tiny islands studding the steel-blue waters of its lakes. Beautiful marble palaces are built on the ridges of the hills, and crowning the ridge is the Palace of the Maharajah. You visit the City Palace, explore its intricate courtyards, and see Sahelon-Ki or the Garden of the Maidens of Honor, Jagdish Temple and the Gulab Niwas Garden. Overnight at legendary Lake Palace Hotel.

Day 4, Monday, Udaipur/Jaipur
A short flight brings you to Jaipur in the heart of Rajasthan, surrounded on three sides by rugged hills crowned with medieval fortresses. This "Pink City" of colorful buildings and palaces has much to see - the City Palace, Mubarak Hall, Chandra Mahal, and Pothikhana, which houses a rare collection of paintings and manuscripts, as well as the Museum of Arms and Armory. You also visit Jantar Mantar, Maharajah Jai Singh's massive and unique observatory, and the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds. Overnight at Rambagh Palace Hotel.

Day 5, Tuesday, Jaipur
Today features a visit to Amber Fort, situated atop a hill overlooking Jaipur. It was the old capital before Jaipur was built, and its palace is laid out at different levels on the hillside. The ascent to the Palace is made on a decorated elephant, but for those who don't wish to experience that thrill, the ascent may be made by foot or auto. Enjoy dinner with a performance of Rajasthani dance.

Day 6, Wednesday, Jaipur/Agra
In the morning proceed to Agra and the Taj Mahal. En route visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri, Mug Hal Emperor Akbar's capital. The marble tomb of Saint "Salim Christi," and the Bulland Durwaza are some of the highlights of Fatehpur Sikri. A 27-mile drive brings you to Agra in the late afternoon where you check in to the Taj View Hotel.

Day 7, Thursday, Agra
Today features a full day visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, built by Shah Jehan as a memorial to his wife. At the Fort, standing opposite the Taj you see the room where the imprisoned Shah Jehan could view the Taj Mahal to the end of his days, as well as princely treasures from the height of the Muhgal Empire. In the evening, enjoy dinner with a performance of a magic show.

Day 8, Friday, Agra/Khajuraho
Travel by air to Khajuraho, once the capital of the powerful Hindu dynasty, the Chandelas (956 A.D.). Upon arrival, transfer to the Chandela Hotel. Sightseeing includes the Western and Eastern Temples.

Day 9, Saturday, Khajuraho/Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi, formerly called Benares, the oldest city in India and one of the holiest to Hindus, on the banks of the Ganges River. Check in to the Taj Ganges Hotel, and immediately start touring the many temples and bazaars of the city.

Day 10, Sunday, Varanasi
A sunrise boat ride on the Ganges gives you the opportunity to view the rituals taking places along the ghats from the Alamgir Mosque south to the Kedareshvara, including a roof-top view of the Vishvanath Temple compound. Further sightseeing includes the buried Buddhist city of Sarnath, Dhamekh and Chaukhandi stupas, Ashoka Pillar, Deer Park and the Bodhi tree, two sites holy to Buddhists, and the archaeological museum.

Day 11, Monday, Varanasi/Delhi
Fly to Delhi and transfer to Taj Palace Hotel.

Day 12, Tuesday, Delhi
Today, tour Old and New Delhi, visiting the War Memorial Arch, India Gate, and Parliament House, built by the British. You see the 12th century Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, the famous Red Fort, Jama Masjid, the second largest mosque in the world, Rajghat, where Gandhi's ashes rest, and the old bazaar of Chandni Chowk. In the evening, enjoy the spectacular Sound and Light show at the Red Fort.

Day 13, Wednesday, Delhi
Today is a full day at leisure. Explore the city on your own, where you find everything from amazing shopping to serene parklands.

Day 14, Thursday, Delhi/USA
Depart via Lufthansa Airlines to return to the US. Or take the Southern India trip or Nepal Adventure.

Day 14, Thursday, Delhi/Bombay
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Bombay. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the Taj Mahal Hotel.

Day 15, Friday Bombay
Bombay (now Mumbai) has a beautiful natural harbor studded with emerald green islands and a palm-fringed shore that rises gradually to mountain peaks. Highlights of the city include the Gateway of India arch, Hanging Gardens, Prince of Wales Museum, the bustling Crawford Market, Flow Fountain, and the Dhobi Gahats, a vast outdour laundry. In the afternoon take a cruise across the harbor to visit the Elephant Cave, six miles from Bombay .

Day 16, Saturday, Bombay/Mysore
Take a flight to Mysore, one of the few places in India which still breathes the air of medieval urban splendor. Visit Mysore Palace, Brintavan Garden and Sri Rangadattan Temple. Accommodations are at the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel.

Day 17, Sunday, Mysore/Bangalore
Drive north to Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka State (the former princely state of Mysore), and transfer to the Taj Westend Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing in this modern well-planned city shows you its rolling parks and gardens, the Visweswarian Memorial Museum, and the Mysore Arts and Crafts Center.

Day 18, Monday, Bangalore/Cochin
Fly to Cochin , the "Queen of the Arabian Sea ." Check in at the Taj Malabar Hotel.

Day 19, Tuesday, Cochin
Today's morning city tour includes visits to the Dutch Palace, Fort Cochin district, the synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Cathedral and the Mattancherry district. In the afternoon proceed to the state of Kerala, for a scenic boat ride, a visit to Bolghatty Palace and the Chinese fishing nets. In the evening enjoy a Kahakali Dance performance at the Cochin Cultural Center.

Day 20, Wednesday, Cochin/Madurai
Travel overland 324km. through the rural southern subcontinent to Madurai, a 2,000-year-old city and the capital of the Pandyas. Visit the imposing Meenakshi Temple with its Hall of a Thousand Pillars. Accommodations for the night are at the Taj Garden Retreat.

Day 21, Thursday, Madurai/Madras
Board a flight to Madras. Afternoon sightseeing tour includes visits to St. Mary's church. Check into the Taj Coromandel Hotel.

Day 22, Friday, Madras
An hour's drive brings you to the temples at Mahaballipuram on the shores of the Bengal. We also visit Penance of Arjura, the Five Rathas and the Nahishamardini cave. Return to Madras in the late afternoon.

Day 23, Saturday, Madras/USA
Board Lufthansa Airlines flight to return to the United States.

Day 1, Delhi/Kathmandu, Nepal
Fly from Delhi to Kathmandu, the capital of the Kingdom of Nepal. You are met and transferred to Dwarika's Hotel. The afternoon tour includes the imposing 2,000-year-old stupa at Swayambhunath, the central Durbar Square, and the colorful lanes and alleyways of the local marketplace. In the evening, enjoy dinner with a performance of Nepalese dance.

Day 2, Kathmandu
The morning tour takes you to the ancient capital of Bhadgaon, where you visit the Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, the Golden Gate and the Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu shrine on the banks of the Bagmati River. Then drive to the small town of Dhulikhel for lunch and enjoy the dramatic Himalayan mountain scenery. Return to Kathmandu and finish the day with a 12-course Nepalese dinner at the hotel's Krishnarpan Restaurant.

Day 3, Kathmandu/Chitwan National Park
Fly to Chitwan National Park, Nepal's wild game sanctuary, with accommodations at the Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge. Jungle activities include a 4-wheel drive safari and elephant ride in this hunting grounds of the maharajahs.

Day 4, Chitwa National Park
A full day of nature, with walks, boat rides, and game viewing. We search for rhinos and the elusive royal Bengal tiger in Chitwan's tall grass jungle.

Day 5, Chitwan National Park/Kathmandu
Return by air to Kathmandu. Weather permitting, enjoy a short sightseeing flight over the Himalayas to view Mount Everest. Accommodations are at Dwarika's Hotel.

Day 6, Kathmandu/Delhi
Fly to Delhi and transfer to the Taj Palace Hotel for overnight.

Day 7, Delhi/USA
Depart via Lufthansa Airlines to return to the US.
