Day 1, Arrive Chengdu
Transfer to Jinjiang Hotel.

Day 2, Chengdu/Lhasa
Fly to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Transfer to Lhasa Hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 3, Lhasa
Today take a tour and visit Potala Palace, which was the chief residence of the 14th Dalai Lama, who fled in 1959. Today the Potala Palace is a World Heritage Site and was named by USA Today as one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World.” Explore Jokhang Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the most venerated statue in Tibet. Discover Norbulingka Park, summer palace of the Dalai Lamas.
Visit Drepung Monastery, the largest of all Tibetan monasteries, and Sera Monastery. (B/L/D)

Day 4, Lhasa/Gyangtze
Travel 150 miles by motor coach/car to Gyangtze. Visit the Kumbum Stupa, a unique Tibetan Buddhist spiritual monument featuring over 10,000 Buddha statues. Overnight at Gyangtze Hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 5, Gyangtze/ Xigaze
A two-hour drive takes you to Xigaze, the second largest city in Tibet. Tour the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas and the most important cultural edifice of the city. Overnight at Xigaze Hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 6, Xigaze/Lhasa
Return to Lhasa on a scenic route that follows the Yarlung Zangbo River and gaze at the famous gorge that cuts through the mountains. Overnight at the Lhasa Hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 7, Lhasa/Chengdu
Join our extension to Nepal (see Pacific Holidays tour brochure), or take a morning flight to Chengdu and transfer to Jinjiang Hotel. Take an afternoon tour of Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, China's most populous province. (B/L)

Day 8, Chengdu/Hong Kong
Fly to Hong Kong. Transfer to Harbor Plaza Hotel. (B)
