Day 1, Bangkok/Kanchanaburi/River Kwai Village
Be ready for an early morning pickup from your Bangkok hotel and depart for Kanchanaburi. Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Center, an interactive museum and research facility presenting the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway. The fully air-conditioned center offers visitors an educational and emotional experience. Stop by the War Cemetery, final resting place for over 6,000 allied prisoners of war, where every stone tells a story of a lost life. Visit the world famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Board the original “Death Railway” train and enjoy a journey through spectacular scenery, passing over the famous wooden bridge built along the mountainside by allied prisoners of war (made famous by the movie Bridge on the River Kwai). The bridge is located on the border between Thailand and Myanmar. After lunch, take a short boat trip upstream to explore the Kaeng Lava Cave with its amazing stone formations. Dinner and overnight at the River Kwai Village Hotel. (L/D)
Day 2, River Kwai Village/Bangkok
After breakfast at the hotel, spend the morning at leisure or explore the surrounding area. After lunch, transfer back to your Bangkok hotel. (B/L) |
