Pacific Holidays' Rediscovering Shangri-La Vacation takes you on an exciting tour of Kunming, Lijiang, Zhongdian, Dali and Hong Kong. Finally, visit the exotic locales you have only read about in books or seen in movies! Kunming is a beautiful city located on top of a plateau in Yunnan Province, China. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and a lake to the south. You will visit the major attractions of this city, which is surrounded by a wall that was built in the 14th century by the Ming Dynasty. Other highlights of your Kunming tour will include a visit to either the Western Hills or the traditional Taoist Golden Temple. You will enjoy all the diversions during your Rediscovering Shangri-La Tour. Afterwards you will relax and rejuvenate in your hotel. Your Kunming hotel is the comfortable and well-appointed Bank Hotel.

Other Shangri-La Vacation Highlights

Your Rediscovering Shangri-La Vacation also includes a visit to the old town of Lijiang, the city in Yunnan province where Kublai Khan reigned. This town is quite special due to its history, its geographic location and the renowned Black Dragon Pool (Heilongtan). It is also the only "old city" in China without a wall. Discover the scenery of legendary Shangri-La along with a visit to the 17th-century Tibetan monastery of Garden Songzalin (Guihua). Your trip will include the Napa Lake and Bita Lake Nature Reserves. You may also have a chance to visit a Tibetan home in a mountain village. Your tour also includes a visit to scenic Dali and the incredible city of Hong Kong.
