Visit Korea on Your Next Vacation
Your Korea travel package begins with a flight out of San Francisco, destined for Seoul, Korea. Upon arriving Seoul, you will be transferred to your Seoul hotel. Enjoy a full-day Seoul tour where you can visit the Secret Garden, the Folklore Museum and the many temples and palaces that make up this majestic city. Savor the tantalizing delicacies of Korean cuisine as you watch a traditional performance. Travel by train to the central city of Daegu, where you will ride by coach to Mt. Gaya National Park. Next up is a visit to Haeinsa Temple, otherwise known as the repository of the Tripitaka Koreana, a set of 80,000 wooden printing blocks engraved with one of the most comprehensive compilations of the Buddhist scriptures in all of Asia. The next day, travel by express bus to Kyongju, where you will see architecture dating back to the 6th Century, a 7th Century astrological observatory and other culturally important facilities. An express train returns you to Seoul and a chance to visit the DMZ, or the Demilitarized Zone, one of the last remaining relics from the Cold War. The final day of your Seoul tour ends with a trip to the airport and a return flight to San Francisco.

Day 1, Monday - USA/Seoul
Depart San Francisco on board a Singapore Airlines flight to Seoul. Cross the International Date Line en route.
Day 2, Tuesday - Seoul
Arrive at Incheon International Airport and transfer to your hotel. (Hamilton Hotel/ Lotte World Hotel)
Day 3, Wednesday - Seoul
A full-day tour of this national capital includes Kyongbok Palace, Chokyesa Temple, Changdok Palace and its beautiful Secret Garden, the Folklore Museum and the popular It'aewon shopping district. At night visit Korea House, appreciate Korean traditional culture, and taste Korean food while enjoying a traditional performance. (B/L/D)
Day 4, Thursday - Seoul/Mt. Gaya/Daegu
In the morning, take a train to the central city of Daegu. Upon arrival drive by coach to Mt. Gaya National Park. Visit Haeinsa Temple, known as the repository of the Tripitaka Koreana, a set of 80,000 wooden printing blocks engraved with one of the most comprehensive compilations of the Buddhist scriptures in all of Asia. Later, return to Daegu and check in to Eldis Regent Hotel or similar. (B)
Day 5, Friday - Daegu/Kyongju
In the morning, take your onward express bus to Kyongju. Afternoon sightseeing tour takes you to the 6th century Bulguksa Temple of the Shilla Kingdom and Seokguram Grotto, dating back to the same period. (Concorde Hotel) (B)
Day 6, Saturday - Kyongju/Seoul
Today's sightseeing in Kyongju starts at the royal tombs at Tumuli Park. Then visit Anapchi Pond, the 7th-century Chomsongdai astronomical observatory, and the National Museum. Day 7, Sunday - Seoul
Take an excursion to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Two kilometers away from the truce line on the North and South border, DMZ is one of the last relics of the Cold War and a unique area where tension and peace coincide. (B) Day 8, Monday - Seoul/USA
Transfer to the airport for your flight to San Francisco and arrive the same day. Or take the optional North Korea tour. (B)
