Day 1, Wednesday - USA/Kota Kinabalu
Depart via Singapore Airlines trans-Pacific flight to the Orient.
Day 2, Thursday - En Route
Cross the International Date Line.
Day 3, Friday - Kota Kinabalu
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to your hotel. (Hyatt Kinabalu Hotel)
Day 4, Saturday - Kota Kinabalu
Drive two hours overland through padi-fields and Dusun villages, and over ridges of Crocker Range to Kinabalu National Park, a World Heritage site. Visit Mountain Garden, and enjoy a nature trail. (B/L)
Day 5, Sunday - Kota Kinabalu/Sandakan
Arrive at Sandakan by air and transfer to a jetty for a speedboat ride to Selingan Island. After lunch, you may swim or snorkel. After dinner, observe turtles laying eggs, and perhaps the release of turtles into the sea. (Chalet) (B/L/D)
Day 6, Monday –Sandakan/Sukau
Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. After lunch, a boat journey takes you to your lodgings along the Kinabatangan. Travel through mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats for a good chance of wildlife sightings. See Proboscis monkeys along the river's tributary. Evening slide show by in-house naturalist guide. Day 7, Tuesday - Sukau/Sandakan/Kuching
After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat. Lunch at Sandakan, followed by a city tour covering the water village, Australian War Memorial and Agnes Keith House. Day 8, Wednesday - Kuching/Lemanak River/Batang Ai
A scenic journey takes you through Malay, Chinese and Bidayuh villages; pepper orchards; and rubber and oil palm plantations. At the Lemanak River, board a motorized longboat. Day 9, Thursday - Batang Ai/Kuching

Day 10, Friday - Kuching/Kuala Lumpur
In the morning, take a city tour of Kuching. Begin a short cruise at the Satok Bridge, pass the State Mosque and visit the Cat Museum or Fort Margherita.
