Your tour of Myanmar begins with an afternoon visit to the 2,500-year-old Shwe Dagon Pagoda where you'll catch a brilliant sunset as it gleams off the Pagoda's golden roof. Next, you will travel to Bagan, the city of 13.000 temples and one of the richest archeological sites in Asia. The following day of your Myanmar travel excursion continues in Bagan where you will travel to Mt. Popa. The next morning begins with a flight to Mandalay, home to the largest marble Buddha in the world. You can expect to spend some time at the center for Burmese Art, Architecture and Handicrafts as well. On the fifth day, your Myanmar tour comes full circle as you return to Yangon for more sightseeing.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 - Bangkok/Yangon
Depart for your tour of Burma (now called Myanmar). Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing includes a sunset visit to the 2,500-year-old Shwe Dagon Pagoda and its 325-foot central stupa sheathed in gold. (Traders Hotel)

Day 2 - Yangon/Bagan
Morning flight to Bagan, the city of 13,000 temples. Full-day sightseeing includes a memorable experience at Bupaya Pagoda for the panoramic view over the Ayeyarwady River and the many ancient monuments, which make this one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia. (Tharabar Gate) (B/L/D)

Day 3 - Bagan
Continue touring Bagan and its surroundings. An excursion overland to the sacred Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano crowned with shrines at the peak, 777 stairs up from its base. (B/L/D)

Day 4 - Bagan/Mandalay
Morning flight to Mandalay. Full-day sightseeing in Mandalay, home of the largest marble Buddha in the world and center for Burmese art, architecture and handicrafts. (Sedona Hotel) (B/L/D)

Day 5 - Mandalay/Yangon
Return to Yangon by air. More sightseeing in Yangon. (Traders Hotel) (B/L)
