Enjoy A Thailand And Japan Holiday

Your Thailand and Japan holiday begins as you fly into Tokyo via Los Angeles. In Japan, travel to such world-renowned landmarks such as Tokyo Tower, Tasaki Pearl and the Imperial Palace Plaza. An excursion to Nikko brings a welcome visit to the Kegon Waterfall among other beautiful attractions. On day 5, you will take a trip to Mt Fuji and ride the Mt. Komagatake Aerial Cableway for a breathtaking view. A bullet train to Kyoto is next on your itinerary, where you will visit the temples and shrines in Nara. You'll then travel to Osaka by bus and catch a flight from there to Bangkok where you'll relax in your comfortable Bangkok hotel. Your Bangkok tour includes visits to highly revered Buddhist temples and a cruise along the Chao Phraya River. A visit to an elephant work camp awaits you in Chiang Mai along with some delicious Thai cuisine. Travel from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and get a glimpse of the colorful hill tribes there. Your Thailand tour then has you returning to Bangkok for another overnight stay before returning home to the USA on a same day trip.

Day 1, Friday - Los Angeles/Tokyo
Depart the USA via Singapore Airlines trans-Pacific flight for Tokyo. Cross the International Date Line en route.

Day 2, Saturday - Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo and transfer to your hotel. (Shiba Park Hotel/Keio Plaza Hotel)

Day 3, Sunday - Tokyo
Morning city tour to Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace Plaza, Asakusa Kannon temple and Tasaki Pearl. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4, Monday - Tokyo/Nikko/Tokyo
Full-day excursion to Nikko, visiting Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, Lake Chuzenji, and Kegon Waterfall. (L)

Day 5, Tuesday - Tokyo/Mt. Fuji/ Hakone
Drive halfway up Mt. Fuji. Continue to the historic Hakone Barrier, cruise on Lake Ashi, and ride the Mt. Komagatake Aerial Cableway. (Hotel Kowaki-en) (L)

Day 6, Wednesday - Hakone/Kyoto
Bullet train to Kyoto. Afternoon excursion to Nara. Visit Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Shrine, and Deer Park. Return to Kyoto for overnight. (New Miyako Hotel/Westin Miyako Hotel) (L)

Day 7, Thursday - Kyoto
Morning city tour to Golden Pavilion, Nijojo Castle, and Kyoto Imperial Palace. Afternoon tour includes Sanjuasangendo Hall, Heian Shrine, and Kiyomizu

Day 8, Friday - Kyoto/Osaka/Bangkok

Day 9, Saturday - Bangkok
Today's city tour includes the Grand Palace and some of the most renowned Buddhist temples, the Temple of the Golden Buddha and the huge Reclining Buddha at Wat Po. (B)

Day 10, Sunday - Bangkok
In the morning, cruise the Chao Phraya River and canals and see the Temple of Dawn. Balance of day free to explore on your own. In the evening, enjoy a Thai-style dinner with traditional dance performance. (B/D)

Day 11, Monday - Bangkok/Chiang Mai
Following breakfast, fly to Chiang Mai. Transfer to your hotel. (Amari Rincome Hotel/Sheraton Hotel) (B)

Day 12, Tuesday - Chiang Mai
A full-day tour includes a visit to an elephant work camp and to some interesting temples. Enjoy a superb Northern Thai dinner with a hilltribe presentation. (B/D)

Day 13, Wednesday - Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai

Day 14, Thursday - Chiang Rai/Bangkok
